Leaves are opposite and smooth, slightly lighter on bottom. Tiny flowers greenish with tiny pink petals. Stems are woody, rough and tough and highly fibrous. 60 cm or less high, hard to pull from ground. Numerous specimens in bad condition can be found near roads, paths, and other very dry, poor spots.
